The KÖBER Group announces an increase of their turnover of 145 in 2003
Bucharest, 25 February 2004 - KÖBER announces a turnover of 34 million Euro, in 2003, for coating products, representing an increase with 14% relative to 2002. Today, KÖBER holds a leading place on the retail market of alkyd paints for wood and metals, as well as enamels, with a quota of 38.47%, as the sole manufacturer of pigments in our country. KÖBER ranks second on the pigment market holding 17% thereof. The largest share in the company's turnover represents public consumption products, i.e. 62%, while the industrial sector holds only 35%. The KÖBER products have also been successful on the international market with 3% of its revenue brought in by exports.
Founded in 1991, the KÖBER Group is the first largest producer with wholly private capital in the field of coating products (putties, primers, paints, enamels, lacquers, thinners) and synthetic resins. The area of decorative products has had the most dynamic development where our group holds an important market share.
By the end of February, the KÖBER Group will launch its first image campaign for the range of KÖBER paints; this is an integrated campaign containing the ATL traditional component (spot TV, press releases, and outdoors), as well as a powerful BTL and PR component. Our campaign will focus on the idea that KÖBER is the expert in decoration and it will include the catchphrase: "KÖBER. The power of colour."

That is why, within our strategy for the following years we concentrate on strategic partnerships and management based on entrepreneurship, on the continuous updating of know-how and the sale of products that ensure western standards of comfort to our customers, aiming at strengthening our position as a market leader," continues Aurel KÖBER.
From the moment it was founded to the present day, KÖBER has invested about 20 million Euros in its plant, installations and technology, materialised in the following yearly production outputs: 600 tonnes lacquers, 30,000 tonnes solvent paints, 50,000 tonnes emulsion paints, 15,000 tonnes resins and 1,500 tonnes powder paints.
Some of the main investments in our Group are directed towards environmental protection and research and development. KÖBER has a research department of its own whose task is to create new quality products. In 2003, we launched the Kolor Explorer, an integrated system of shade matching including recipes for producing colours as per colour card by using software developed within the KÖBER Group.
And last but not least, KÖBER has constantly invested in people. The supremacy of our company's intellectual capital is due to our team of professionals who are the pride of KÖBER. The new image campaign of KÖBER started with a briefing that delivered a very simple message: KÖBER is the number one producer of paints, enamels and lacquers in Romania. We deliver quality products and our wish is to achieve an image campaign on which to build our further communication in the following years.
"We have analysed all our competitors and, between rhymes and coating power, we had a revelation: no paint on the Romanian market exploited the fragile and yet long-term spiritualised association between colour and emotion, says Mihai Coliban," D'Arcy Design Director. "Thus, we chose to make use of the magical power of colour to trigger sensations in each and everyone. Green draws one towards meditation, yellow can make one smile, blue is always infinite. Suddenly, it all connects naturally: "KÖBER: The power of colour." The campaign has also more than one dimension: from changes in the visual identity and re-creating the entire packaging line, to print and outdoor, spot TV, events for launching the campaign, POSM and many others."
The KÖBER Group's has a Management System (Quality Management System and Menu Management System certified by GERMANISCHER LLOYD CERTIFICATION and the Quality Management System certified by TUV SUDDEUTSCHLAND. In order to meet the requirements of domestic customers, our products have been tested by authorised laboratories and were granted technical agreements by INCERC Bucharest and Technical Agreement in Constructions Committee of MLPAT Bucharest, for both products based on organic solvents and emulsions.

At national level, the distribution network will facilitate the offer of the whole range of our products and services in all the cities in Romania. Also, KÖBER aims at implementing the Kolor Explorer shading system in the whole country.
Having the export in mind, our target is a 10% share of the market for decoration products in Hungary and become an important supplier of industrial paints.
2005:
In January 2005, we opened the Sales and Logistics Centre of KÖBER in Bucharest. This modern building is situated at 42 E, Theodor Pallady Boulevard. Our Centre provides consultancy, colour matching and sales services.
The promotion of ECOPLAST, our washable paint, was awarded the golden medal at the "Golden Hammer" advertising festival in Riga.
The ELEGANT range of professional products for the protection of wood received another award at the Expo Construct exhibition in Bucharest in 2005.
2006:
The ECOLASURE EXTRA range of professional products for the protection of wood received an award at the Expo Construct Ambient exhibition in Bucharest in 2006.
2007:
Since January 2007, KÖBER has launched the range of products KÖBER Professional whose target groups is professional builders.
Our range of products DECORAL received the latest award at Expo Construct exhibition in Bucharest in 2007. This is a range of finishing products with Venice stucco and relief effect.
2008:
In february, KOBER launched a new superwashable white paint for interior: ZERTIFIKAT. Its very good coating power brings this product in First Class according to EN 13300 standard.
In may ZERTIFIKAT was awarded at the biggest romanian exposition, EXPO CONSTRUCT AMBIENT 2008.
From august 2008 we opened a new production facility on Savinesti chemical platform, equiped with new and high automatised tehnology. The anual production capacity of Savinesti facility is 120,000 tons.
